Alexa Colvin joined the Green Prairie Animal Hospitals team in August 2025. Originally from Morris, Illinois, Alexa has loved animals for as long as she can remember and knew from a young age that she wanted to work in veterinary medicine. What motivates Alexa most is helping animals in need and continuing to learn and grow in the field. She takes pride in treating every patient like they’re her own and always brings a positive, caring attitude to her work. Around the clinic, she’s known by her nickname “Lexi” (her alter ego 😉). Alexa enjoys the hands-on side of veterinary medicine and appreciates the variety the job brings — from blood draws and dental X-rays to anesthesia, radiology, emergencies, and end-of-life care. She especially enjoys learning all the behind-the-scenes details that go into providing great patient care. Outside of work, Alexa enjoys bowling, golfing, tennis, camping, and spending time with her daughter.
