Katy Sanders joined the Green Prairie Animal Hospitals team in June 2025, bringing with her 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. She started her career in kennel and boarding, then worked her way into becoming a veterinary assistant — experience that gave her a strong, well-rounded foundation in patient care. Originally from Springfield, Illinois, Katy has a special interest in surgical and surgery assisting, particularly orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. She also enjoys working with diagnostic imaging and lab work, and loves learning all the behind-the-scenes details that help pets get the best possible care. What really drives Katy is treating every patient like her own. She believes pets and their owners deserve thoughtful care, clear communication, and compassion at every visit. Around the clinic, Katy is known for being chatty, friendly, and easy to talk to — always happy to help answer questions or lend a hand. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, watching movies, and hanging out with her two Golden Retrievers, Autumn and Aspen (and her hedgehog, Theo!).
